Dear Intuitive Seeker –

When you have learned how to decide with God, all decisions become as easy and as right as breathing. There is no effort, and you will be led as gently as if you were being carried down a quiet path to summer. — A Course in Miracles

I want to share a technique with you that I’ve been using for years. I feel it’s played a central role in manifesting miracles in my life. I have a box on a shelf in my home office that says “Help Wanted.” It sits by a lovely sculpture of a glass angel who watches over it. It contains letters I’ve sent to God. (Choose a word/concept that works for you, like Universe, All-That-Is, or Higher Power.)

Prayer is how we talk with God, and intuition is one of the ways we hear the response. I’m a bit of a pragmatist and sometimes I wonder if God has heard my prayers. So I devised a system that satisfied my need for some sort of a tangible signal that I was actually communicating with God. I wanted to know I had been heard. It works like this:

I write a letter to God telling him about my concerns. I always feel a sense of relief in writing these. It’s as if I’m talking with a good friend and sharing my concerns. I pour out my worries, fears and anxieties on the page. Then I go a step further. I make specific requests of God to help me in certain ways, always adding, “if this is in my highest interest.” I also like to add “Allow this to happen with grace and ease.”

Far be it from me to tell God what to do in my life! But I like to think God is interested in helping me with my specific concerns and will assist me in unique ways that I could never have come up with on my own. I figure that the Power that created the Universe and all its inhabitants will certainly know how to assist each of us in an easy and effortless way.

Creating Your Own “Help Wanted”

I don’t have a lot of rules for this. I believe that God hears your desires even if you haven’t expressed them as eloquently as you might have liked. You don’t have to be a good writer or speller. You can use a computer or write the requests in pen, pencil or crayons.

State your concerns. Dear God (Universe) – Here’s what I’m worried about. Write a few paragraphs.

Say what you want and make it as specific as possible. Don’t tell God how you want the answers to come. The Universe has amazing resources, well beyond our limited means, that can bring about miracles and fulfill our desires.

End with something that allows for the fact that God has a greater wisdom and may have better or different plans to resolve your issue. I conclude with “God, if the above is in my highest interest, please work with me to bring this into my life. Thank You for all Your blessings. I remain open to Your guidance and direction.”

Create a “mailbox” for your requests. I’ve had students who designed elaborate containers for their letters to God. They were beautifully painted works of art with inspiring words and symbols on them. Others have simply used a shoebox, a Tupperware container or a special journal. God doesn’t care what your mailbox looks like, but if it feels good to you to decorate it, please do!

Await a response. The answers come in varied ways depending on the nature of your request. You might want to keep notes of any and all indications that your request is being answered. Pay attention to any flashes of insight, coincidences, synchronicities, a persistent thought that nudges you in a new direction, or any flickers of enthusiasm to contact someone or to start on a specific plan of action. God will begin putting the right people, ideas and situations in your path so that your request will unfold in just the right way at just the right time and be a “win-win” solution for all involved.

Let me know how this works for you. I’d love to hear all the creative ways the Universe has responded to your requests.
