There are times when life doesn't look anything like we expected. Plans change. Circumstances shift. Something we counted on disappears, and suddenly we're left wondering, What now?

In those moments, it's natural to focus on everything that's wrong. But if we're ready for things to change, one of the first places we can begin is with our thoughts.

Focus on what you want.

This doesn't mean pretending everything is fine or ignoring what you're going through. It means becoming intentional about where you place your attention. Instead of continually asking, “Why is this happening?” or “What if things never get better?”, try asking these questions instead...

  • “What do I want to feel?”
  • “What kind of life am I ready to create?”
  • “What would bring me closer to feeling whole, purposeful, and at peace?”

The questions we ask can change what we're able to see.

Open yourself to guidance.

You don't have to know exactly how you're going to get from where you are to where you want to be. Ask for guidance. Then create some space to receive it. It might come through an unexpected conversation, a new idea, a feeling you can't shake, or a quiet intuitive knowing about what to do next.

Sometimes the answer isn't a complete plan; it's simply a new direction. When we open our minds, hearts, and spirits to possibility, we become more receptive to the guidance that's already available to us.

And that may be where change begins...not by having everything figured out, but by choosing a new thought, asking a new question, and becoming willing to listen.

Your world may not change overnight. But changing the way you see it can be the beginning of changing what comes next.‍
